God Bless You

It has been a pleasure to help you grow in the knowledge and wonder of the Scriptures. I hope and pray you continually make Jesus Christ and the Scriptures the chief priorities in your life.

Jesus said that you can not be His disciple unless you are willing to forsake all things in this world for Him, and especially yourself. This is the challenge for all of us; to deny ourselves, pick up our crosses daily, and follow Him.

It has been a pleasure to serve you.

The Naming of John the Baptist

Circumcise Your Heart

Man's great challenge is to circumcise his heart; to cut away sin from his heart; to be tenderhearted; to have a heart of flesh rather than a heart of stone.

Wait on the Lord

Over and over again, the Bible tells us to wait on the Lord. We tend to get in front of ourselves, wanting to tell God how He should bless us. But His blessings are greated than we can imagine. All we have to due is trust and obey, and wait on the Lord.

Mary Magnifies the Lord

Commit Your Way to the Lord

Whatever you do, whatever you think, whatever the state of your heart, commit all your ways to the Lord. This brings Him glory, for He is your God and there is no other.

Blessings

God continues to give blessings for obedience, but the obedience must come from the heart and not out of duty.

God's Command

God had judged the Canaanites and was about to use the Israelites to carry out that command.

Those Who Hate God

Often those who hate God do not know they hate God. This is a great deception by the evil one. The only way we show our love for God is to receive Him as Lord and Savior.

Mary and Elizabeth

The meeting of two blessed pregnant women.

One God

One does not mean singular; it means unity.

Delight Yourself in the Lord

Keep your focus on the Lord and you will be happy.

Good Friday

The Lord died, taking our sins upon Himself, in order to set us free from the penalty and power of sin. This is what the Bible defines as love; that He lay down His life for us. How can we thank Him enough?

Adding or Subtracting

God has told us not to add or subtract from the Scriptures.
Deuteronomy 4:2
Deuteronomy 12:32
Proverbs 30:6
Revelation 22:18-19
Many problems come from disobedience to this command.

Judges of Israel

Moses appointed judges. These judges were under the watchful eye of God and responsible to Him for their decisions. This is what is missing in many of the judges in our country today; judges responsible to God for their decisions.

The Twelve Spies

Why would Israel need spies when God said He was going to fight for them and give them victory? This was an obvious lack of faith on their part. Moses should have consulted God rather than just decide that it was a good idea. Sometimes our good ideas are not good ideas at all.

Christ on the Cross

The Torn Curtain

At the moment Jesus died, the curtain between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place was torn in two from top to bottom.

Symbolically, this meant that the entrance to God was now open to a true child of God. Before, only the High Priest could approach God in the Holy of Holies, and only with a blood sacrifice. But now, all of us who believe can boldly approach the throne of God in the Holy of Holies by the sacrifice of the blood of our Most High Priest, Jesus Christ. He has become our Father, as well as our King and our God.

Cities of Refuge

The shedding of blood defiled the land where the Lord dwelt. Therefore, the Lord made provision for the one who killed another by accident. The one who killed with premeditation was to be put to death. There was no mercy given.

But mercy was given to the one who killed by accident. God set aside six cities of refuge, three on each side of the Jordan River, where one who killed accidently could flee to and live, and be protected from the person who would seek to avenge the blood of the one killed - usually a close relative. That man had to stay in the city until the high priest of that city died. Then he would be free to return home. If he left the city before the priest died, he could legally be killed by the Avenger of Blood.

The Weight of the Cross

The Path to Golgotha

Barbs and Thorns

God told the Israelites to wipe them out completely, leaving no one alive; not man, woman, child, or baby. God had judged the Canaanites and was using His people to carry out judgment. We may feel that that is too harsh, but God is not asking for our approval or judgment, only obedience. It was not, however, out of sympathy that the Israelites spared some of the Canaanites, but out of greed and sex. And God told them if they do not wipe them out completely that they would eventually trouble them greatly. Have you noticed the trouble Israel has today with her neighbors? God knows the truth and man does not know.

The Passion of the Christ

Jesus claimed to be God Almighty.

Jesus took a punch for us.

Punishment for Spiritual Adultery

The false prophet Balaam suggested the seduction the Israelite men by the Moabite women, which lead to them committing spiritual adultery. Moses was instructed to punish the Midianites for this. God had earlier punished the Israelites with a plague.

Love Discipline

We all tend to hate correction, but if we receive correction we will grow.

Contend For Me

The Lord will fight against the evil forces in our lives. Our job is to trust Him.

Jesus Anointed for His Burial

Just before Jesus was arrested, very expensive perfume was poured over Him at a dinner party. He must have had the most wonderful aroma during the last supper, during His arrest, His trials, His beatings, at the crucifixion, and at His burial.

Genesis 3:15 The Battle of the Seeds

Jesus and the serpent.

The Arrest of Jesus

Long before Jesus was born, it was prophesied that the Messiah would be struck down and the sheep would be scattered. Notice that there are eleven sheep in the picture.
