Man is naturally proud. How can he become humble? The proud man has an elevated view of himself, but if he saw himself rightly he would see that he has nothing to boast about. Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God.” The man who sees the poverty in his own spirit will be lifted up.
