The Angel of the Lord

Before Christ was born, He existed! In the Old Testament, He was called the Preincarnate Christ. Preincarnate means “before He became flesh.” John 1:14 says, “He became flesh and made His dwelling among us…” In Hebrews 1:8,10, God calls Jesus Christ “God,” and says that Jesus laid the foundations of the earth.

Our view of Christ needs to be enlarged. The One who died on the cross for us is also the One who created us, and made the heavens and the earth. The One who made man from the dust of the earth is also the One who gave man His revealed word, the Scriptures. The One who sent His Holy Spirit to dwell in us, in the One who today sits is at the right and of the Father, praying for you and I. The One who first came as the Lamb of God will come again as the Lion of Judah.

The Angel of the Lord is Jesus Christ; our God, our King, and our Most High Priest. Keep an eye out for Him as you read through the Old Testament.
